How to Measure for Inside Mount Blinds
"Inside mount" is an industry term for when you want your blinds inside your window frame. Measuring for inside mount blinds can be a bit more challenging, as the blinds need to fit within the window frame. Here are some tips on how to accurately measure your windows for inside mount blinds:
-
Determine the location of the mount. Inside mount blinds will be mounted on the inside of the window frame. Make sure to measure within the window frame, rather than the window itself.
-
Measure the width of the window. Measure the width of the window at the top the window with a steel measuring tape. Be sure to round down 1/8" when recording your measurements, it is always better to be a bit shorter here to ensure it fits. This will be the width of your blinds.
-
Measure the height of the window. Measure the height of the window from the middle of the window. Ideally you use your phone's measuring app if the window is very tall. If you use your steel measuring tape, we recommend still adding about 3" to the height to ensure you have enough fabric to cover your window. This will be the height of your blinds.
-
Consider any obstructions. Make sure to measure around any obstructions, such as handles or cranks, that may interfere with the operation of the blinds.
-
Write down your measurements and double-check them. Accurate measurements are crucial for a proper fit for your inside mount blinds.
By following these steps, you can easily measure your windows for inside mount blinds and ensure that you have the perfect fit for your home.
